Columbia Ice Field
Here is a beautiful view of the Columbia Ice Field in British Columbia, Canada. The glacier is a gigantic frozen reservoir which is essential to the environment in North America. The Ice field covers an area today of 325 square kilometers or 130 square miles. It is the largest body of ice in the Canadian Rockies. Where the glacier has receded you can see the moraine fields with a backdrop of the mountains and the contrast of the rich green trees rising above the deep blue lake.
