The Federal Courthouse
The Federal Courthouse in Pasadena overlooking the Arroyo Seco. The six-story building dominates the view from across the arroyo. Especially impressive is the view of the building's angled wings, central tower and overall Spanish colonial details as taken from the Colorado Street Bridge. This building is rich in history, dating back to the early 1900's as a hotel, then serving as a hospital during war time, and finally after resting idle for a period of time a restoration to the U.S. Court of Appeals and Federal Building. The beauty of the majestic structure is amplified by the mature growth at its base from the arroyo and punctuated by the backdrop of the San Gabriel mountains. What a joy to see.
